Half of the seats (280) to ARM are allocated to BMA divisions, the number of seats each division is allocated is based on membership figures within the division area on 30 September 2025.

Find your division

Not sure what division you are in? Check and update your details to find out which is your division.

If you are part of an active division (highlighted in green on allocation list above) get in touch with colleagues in your division.

If you are part of a dormant division (all those not highlighted in allocation list) you can get in touch with colleagues on your regional council.

What is an ‘active’ or ‘dormant’ division?

A division will be deemed to be ‘active’ if ANY of the following apply:

  • An annual report has been filed in the past 2 years (under the provisions of bye-law 15 (1)).
  •  An ordinary grant has been applied for in the past 2 years
  • Reps have been appointed to the ARM in the past 2 years
  • Motions have been submitted for inclusion in the ARM agenda in the past 2 years.
  • There has been a general meeting of the division, or arrangements have been made for such via a divisional mailing in the past 2 years (under the provisions of bye-law 18).
  • Council secretariat are informed by the division or by the regional BMA office that the division is active, together with the names and contact details of the officers of the division.
  • The division is newly reactivated in the proper manner whether under the provisions of bye-law 24 or not.

A division will be deemed to be ‘dormant’ if none of the above apply but there is a named divisional officer with valid contact details listed on the contacts database for receipt of divisional mailings.

A division will be deemed to be ‘inactive or disorganised’ if none of the above apply or there is no named divisional officer on the contacts database.
