Local negotiating committees are vital components of the BMA.

We want our members to give feedback on the status of their LNCs so we can better support them and the BMA membership. All good member-led unions seek to understand how their members view their union representation locally, how that representation can be improved and to ascertain what issues matter most to their members where they work.

The main purpose of the survey is to give grassroots members a better opportunity to feed into the work of their LNCs and raise awareness of the work the BMA does locally on behalf of its members. It will generate information about the effectiveness of any communication the LNC is carrying out and any issues to work on in 2025. We would encourage members who are interested in the outcome of the survey to get in touch. The survey will take you just a few short minutes. It is live and due to finish on 28 February.

We are encouraging members to respond so we can get the most accurate and up-to-date picture of how they interact with their LNCs. Please do speak to your colleagues about the survey and encourage their participation.

We always welcome doctors wanting to contribute to their union, to help their colleagues and represent the profession locally, regionally or nationally. Now is a great time to get involved with your union. If you are interested in doing so, your email will contain contact details for your respective region.

If you are a BMA member working in secondary care in England who has not yet received your LNC survey please get in touch via the relevant email below.
